Withlacoochee River (North) Canoe Trail
The Withlacoochee River (North) is officially designated as part of Florida’s Statewide System of Greenways and Trails. The Withlacoochee River gently curves through Twin Rivers State Forest past hardwood forests, crystal-clear springs, and sandbars along the bends. Primitive camping is allowed along the way. Limestone outcrops, pitted by swirling water, stand like watchtowers on the banks. There are a number of small shoals, but they do not generally require portaging. The Withlacoochee contributes a significant amount of water to the Suwannee River and joins it at Suwannee River State Park. The trail ends at the boat ramp in the state park, about a half mile upstream on the Suwannee River.

Notes and Precautions
You can extend your trip by beginning in Georgia or extending it down the Suwannee River. During low water, the shoals can be more adventurous.

- CR 150 Bridge – Five miles east of Pinetta. (4 miles)
- SR 6 Bridge – Ten miles east of Madison. (16 miles)
