Disney World Fort Wilderness Campground

   Fort Wilderness Campground is a campground located in Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida. It features over 700 campsites for tents, pop-ups, and RVs, as well as cabins for rent. Amenities include a swimming pool, playgrounds, a nature trail, a marina, and a variety of recreational activities such as archery and horseback riding. The campground also has a grocery store, a restaurant, and a lounge. Additionally, guests can take advantage of the Disney transportation system to easily access the theme parks and other Disney properties.

In a stardard campground site there was sewage hookup and in the preferred sites there was also cable tv access. The comfort station was equipped with private showers, an ice dispenser, laundry room and restrooms. They are open 24 hours (except the laundry room). Situated on more than 700 acres of lush pine and cypress trees, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort is a picturesque haven of natural beauty. Time slows to a pleasant crawl as Guests wander quiet trails and enjoy the rugged charm of log-façade buildings like the Meadow Trading Post and Pioneer Hall. Water canals snake through the cabins, campsites and common areas, adding to the sense of being far from the bustle of modern civilization—as do the roaming ducks, deer and rabbits.

Fort Wilderness Campground

If you would like to go from Fort Wilderness Campground to Magic Kingdom:

  1. Disney’s internal transportation system, The Disney bus system, operates regularly between the campground and Magic Kingdom park.

  2. The internal boat service connects the campground to the Magic Kingdom park as well as Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

  3. You can also walk or bike to Magic Kingdom park from Fort Wilderness Campground, but it is about 2.5 miles.

  4. Lastly, you can take a taxi, Uber, or Lyft from the campground to the park, but this will be subject to availability.
